When it comes to comfort foods there is no other food like baked pasta. If cooked properly, baked pasta is usually very cheesy, saucy, hot, starchy and salty and when you pair it with one of your favorite wine bottle you will without a doubt enjoy yourself. That said here are tips that will help prepare nice baked pasta.

The first step will be use the right noodle for the job
Before embarking on your quest of preparing your baked pasta, do ensure that you use the right noodle, I would suggest that you go for tubular pasta which has deep ridges something like rigatoni, riccioli or rocchetti. Key to note here is that you should avoid thin, long noodles or ones which are floppy shaped as they can become overcooked quickly.

Undercook your pasta
This will help you avoid baked pasta’s which are mushy. You can easily undercook your pasta by boiling it in phases.

Make two sauces
Instead of going with the common traditional Italian-American red sauce that is usually associated with baked pasta dishes, create another white sauce as this will help get a perfect gooey-melty-oozy baked pasta.

Always ensure the you taste everything
Before you stick the pan in the oven make sure that you have tested everything and that includes, the red and white sauce as well as the cheese and any other product that you will be using.

Remember the broiler
Ensure that you use a broiler as this will help your baked pasta get that golden bubbling crust that we all like to see.

Allow the baked pasta to rest before eating
