Many couples or single people are spending almost the whole day at work. This means there is no time for cooking. Making your own meal is important, and can be fun, but because people don’t have time for that, junk food or frozen food are used. We already know that fast food isn’t good, and that you should avoid it. But, should you avoid frozen food?

The first thing you must know is that, frozen food cannot have the same ingredients as fresh food! Sodium levels in that food are much higher than in fresh food. It can contain 700-1800mg of sodium, and the maximum daily dosage is 2300mg. So, you can have daily intake of sodium much more than recommended! If you want to use frozen food to lose weight, it can be problematic! According to WebMD, the low fat dinner a contain 200-300 calories, but if we have three meals, the daily intake of calories will be less than 1000.And that isn’t enough for our body! The things are bad with the saturated fat also. One meal contains 4-5% of saturated fat, and this make 20% of the calories. Even the large freezers, where frozen food is held are bad for our environment! According to one study, they are harmful as plastic bags! These freezers are responsible for 30% of direct emissions, and only 0.5% of stores have a ‘’greener equipment’’.

If you like or must eat frozen food, avoid those with cheese sauce and syrup. Frozen food that contains cheese is filled with saturated fat! When you open the box, doesn’t refreeze it again. Only use the amount you need and return the rest into the freezer.
